Should I Upgrade to Monterey?

Every time Apple releases a new operating system (OS) it can be tempting to upgrade your systems immediately, either to just get it over with or if you're excited about the new features being offered.

However, as your technology support experts, RoundTable Technology recommends waiting for at least 60-90 days after a major operating system's release before upgrading, especially for business workstations.

1. This allows Apple to fix any critical bugs they discover as the general populace starts using the new OS.
2. Critical bugs may include an issue that prevents your computer from working.
3. For our clients, our Support team will assist to the best of our ability if you upgrade before then, but if there is something that requires a critical fix from Apple, we are at their mercy and may not be able to resolve the issue.
4. In some cases, clients use proprietary Line of Business (LOB) software that may need an update before transitioning to the newest OS.

There's also no need to rush upgrading to Monterey, waiting for Apple to find issues with this OS beforehand will ensure that when you are ready to upgrade it is as smooth a transition as possible.
